DIVA
Cre8 Hemsworth
January/February 2012

Through DIVA (Development Initiative for Voluntary Arts) Wakefield, I have the opportunity to work with some lovely ladies at a Craft Group in Hemsworth.  We have played with Fimo Clay and turned our creations into wearable jewellery for our selves and gifts; with lots of fun and surprise at our own new found talent along the way!

Skippko
Hats Off Project
Autumn/Winter 2011/2012

The Hats Off Project centres around the idea of using hats and head wear to explore ideas of heritage, with head wear worn for work, leisure and social reasons as a starting point.  The project has worked with older peoples groups in Leeds, producing some lovely artwork to be displayed in an empty shop.  We have had fun playing dress up and on trips out along the way; ultimately finding renewed importance in our own and each others heritage.

ABC Light project
October/ November 2011

I have been working on a fantastic project in Barwick, Leeds, organised by the lovely people at ABC (Art for Barwick Children). I have been running workshops on the theme of light with Y3&4 at the local primary school to create an Arts Trail around the village and leading to a community arts festival day 12th November 2011 with lots of exciting arty things happening.

Mexican Day of the Dead Craft Nights
October 18th & 26th 2011
In cahoots with Zombie Slouch organiser Simon Skelling, and artist Jo Loggin, we put on two Mexican Day of the Dead themed craft nights at the Blue Rooms in Huddersfield.  Bringing a splash of colour to dark October nights, leading up to the Huddersfield Zombie Slouch.  There was much fun to be had painting traditional skulls and crafting our own version of marigolds (the flowers, not the gloves!) which beautifully adorned our slouch outfits on the day.  Click the image bellow for more.
